Tools for building and running software: read huge log files, edit a design system with a live preview, and generate realistic test data.
Software work produces files that ordinary editors handle badly: a log of several gigabytes from a server that misbehaved last night, a DESIGN.md that describes a product's colours, type and components in tokens, a database that needs a few thousand believable customers before it can be tested.
The Log Viewer opens logs of any size at once by reading only the part on screen, recognises syslog, JSON lines and access logs, and jumps between errors and warnings. The Design Editor shows a DESIGN.md as source, as a form of its tokens and as a page drawn with them — and can try a design out as the theme of this site. The Data Generator builds synthetic records from a SQL schema or a metadata file and writes them as JSON, XML, CSV or SQL.
What the Developer tools do
Any size
Logs are read a screenful at a time, so a file of many gigabytes opens as fast as a small one.
See the result
Design tokens are drawn on a sample page as they are edited, and checked for broken references and poor contrast.
Data to test with
Realistic names, addresses, dates and codes, with foreign keys kept, for SQL Server, PostgreSQL and SQLite.
The tools
For the people who build and run software: log files of any size read and searched in the browser, design systems edited with a live preview, and synthetic data to test with.
Log Viewer
Open a log of any size, jump between its errors, and see what it holds, without uploading it.
Opens files of any size at once: only the part on screen is read
Next and previous error or warning, by host, source or code
Counts by level, host, source and code, and a map of where the errors are
Jump to a time or a line, find entries alike, follow a growing file
